Oktoberfest #6: Enjoy More with Costume!

So far we have seen the pictures of the Oktoberfest, and you may wonder “Do they really wear the traditional costume?!”

The answer is….. YES! And of course you can wear it too!!

Men:
Lederhosen (singular: Lederhose) are breeches with shoulder straps made of leather and are the traditional clothe of Bavaria.
Please combine Lederhose with white dress shirt, knee-high socks, and half boots.

Well, you are at the sweet side? Or you want to meet women? Then, please go with a gingham shirt. This will make you look sweeter/more friendly in the crowd of very manly guys with white shirt and big beer mugs.

If you are sure that you will not spill beer on/smirch/tear etc them, you can rent the costume without spending much.
》29.95euro a day
》30euro a day

And if you are almost sure to spill beer on/ smirch/ tear, etc… while enjoying the fest, then you can purchase very cheap lederhosen here.

You will get happier and excited, will start dancing, will spill beer…. Don’t worry. Real lederhosen are known for their durability and easiness to clean.

Women:
You will love Dirndl: a traditional dress worn especially in Bavaria. This will make you feel as if you are an heroine of fairy-tales or movies. Traditional Dirndls are simple and plain, and have moderate coverage. Dirndls worn these days in the festivals tend to be more colorful and have less coverage.

To find second-hand Dirndl, please check this store once you get to Munich.

To rent one, please visit these shops.

Lufthansa:
I have not seen them in person, but they say, during the Oktoberfest season, the costume of their flight attendants will be switched to dirndl.
》Please check the photos in Lufthansa Facebook page

Pick up your costume, and head to the fest!
Enjoy!!!
